Called Meeting
Euless City Council
October 22, 1957
Mayor Millican called a special session of
the City Council for October 22, 1957, at 7:00 p.m.
Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, presiding;
Councilmen J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray.
Guests of the Council were: Rev. Collins,
pastor of Fundamentalist Baptist Church, who opened the meeting with a prayer;
Messrs. R. W. Fuller, D . L . Bayless, B. J . Reaves, and B i l l y West.
On a motion by Councilman Cadenhead,
seconded by Councilman Murray, a second portion of Oakwood Terrace was
unanimously approved including blocks 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and block $,
lots 1 through 9.
On a second motion by Councilman Cadenhead,
seconded by Councilman Anderson, approval was given an agreement that the
property owners involved would be invited to meet with the City Council to
state their views and objections to a proposed one -way street on the service
lane fronting Wade's grocery, the Post Office, etc.
Councilman Cadenhead offered a motion, with
a second from Councilman Murray, that the Council approve a rededication of
the Midway Park Addition with some slight changes. The motion was adopted
by unanimous vote.
The City Secretary was instructed to:
1. Change street names on Midway plat from Old Dallas Road'to
Harwood Road and Euless - Grapevine Road to North Main Street and
to ask Mr. Ball to comply.
2. Write a letter to Mr. Collins requesting permission to name
a proposed park for him, etc. (See letter on file.) No council
action taken on matter.
3. Notify Mr. Smith, Church of Christ spokesman, that the permit
to erect the church is available.
4. Question Mr. Strachan as to why numbering for entire City is not
being done as requested.
Councilman Horton
offered a motion, with a
second by Councilman Cadenhead,
that the
Building
Commissioner be authorized
to issue a building permit to the
Church
of Christ
to build a church on lots
18, 1 9 , 20, block 1 5 , Cedar H i l l
Estates
Addition.
Such building to conform
in a l l respects to the building
Ordinance
No. 28.
The motion was adopted.

5. Inform Mr. Elliott (Municipal Service Co.) that the City
expects the ditch on Cannon Drive, due to a cut for a sewer
line, to be filled and repaired. (verbal)
6. Have Attorney Bondurant to get information from B i l l y West and
draw an ordinance closing a portion of the County Road in Oakwood
Terrace.
