HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-10-29221 Called Meeting Euless City Council October 29, 1957 Mayor Millican called the City Council in a special session for October 29, 1957, at 7:30 p.m. Councilmen present and voting were J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray. Others present were Attorney Bondurant, Messrs. W. W. Fuller, Bobby Fuller and Robert Nail. On a motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, Mayor Millican was requested to discuss with Highway Engineer Stone, highway problems in the City and ask that the Highway Department reconsider the whole thing, especially the speed on west bound traffic. The motion was adopted. 2. Councilman Cadenhead offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Murray, that the park in Midway Park Addition, given to the City of Euless by Mr. Carr P. Collins, be named Collins Park for Mr. Collins, and the City erect a sign "Collins Park, proposed City Park, City of Euless ". The motion was adopted. 3. * A seconded by Councilman Murray, was a City budget prepared by Commissioner City Council, and further propose a assessed valuation of property. The is a part of these minures. 4 second motion by Councilman Cadenhead, request that the Council accept the proposed of Finance Cadenhead at the request of the tax rate of 50 cents per $100.00 on the proposed budget was unanimously adopted and Councilman Anderson offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Horton, that Ordinance No. 87, annexing a portion of County Road No. 3091, be approved and adopted. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. 5- Councilman Horton moved that the City Secretary be authorized and instructed to purchase an adding machine for the City of Euless. Councilman Cadenhead seconded the motion and it was adopted. W A final motion by Councilman Horton, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, authorized the purchase by the city of two typewriters, one for the City Secretary and another for the police department.
