HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-11-12223 Regular Meeting Euless City Council November 12, 1957 The City Council, City of Euless, met in a regular session November 12, 1957, at 7:30 p.m., with Mayor Pro tem J. S. Anderson presiding. Councilmen present were S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray. Meeting with the Council were Attorney Bondurant, Rev. Pendergrass, who opened the meeting with prayer, Mr. Strachan from Joe Rady Engineering Company and Mr. R. W. Fuller. Agreement was reached with Mr. Strachan whereby Midway Park would be renumbered with a l l even numbers being on the right going away from the point of beginning and all the odd numbers on the left. Also Mr. Strachan was instructed to proceed immediately with numbering of all the City possible at this time. On a motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, Ordinance No. 88, annexing another portion of Midway Park to the City of Euless, was adopted. Councilman Cadenhead offered a motion, with a second from Councilman Murray, that an expenditure of not more than $10.00 be authorized for the exclusive purpose of purchasing material for two typewriter stands in the offices of the City Hall. The motion was adopted. A final motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, proposed that Mr. W, E. Smith be employed by the City to establish the valuations and set up a tax system for the City of Euless. The motion was adopted and the City Secretary was instructed to contact Mr. Smith concerning the City's action. Mr. Strachan asked for all the assistance the City could give him in securing sepias and Van Dyke negatives preparatory to house numbering for the City. The City Secretary was instructed to have proper parties sign the Tri -City Cab Company certificate. The City Secretary was instructed to contact Mr. Albert Tillery and inform him that the City has employed him to repair the roof or leak in the City Hall building.
