I CALLED TO ORDER A regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to order by Chairperson Barney Snitz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in the Meeting Room of the Library, 201 N. Ector Drive. Those present included: Chairperson Snitz, Vice Chairperson Jorge Chac, and Board Members Jinn Hamilton, Katherine Flannery, Mike McGehee, Chris McAllister, and Rochelle Ragas. Board Member Mavy Wright was not present. STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT Sherry Knight, Library Director Angela Jones, Assistant Library Director Mollie Myers, Administrative Secretary VISITORS LuAnn Portugal, Euless, Texas ITEM NO.2 APPROVED LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on October 6, 2022. The motion was made by Mr. Hamilton to accept the minutes with corrections and seconded by Mr. McGehee. All were in favor and the motion carried. ITEM NO.3 WELCOMED VISITORS Chairperson Snitz welcomed all visitors. ITEM NO.4 PRESENTED LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT Library Update Ms. Knight reviewed last month's statistical summary specifically mentioning the attendance at the "4,5,6" program and read the latest "Stories of Impact." Mr. Hamilton asked about the Senior Book Club and Ms. Ragas inquired about the number of attendees at this program. ❖ Classes and Events Update Ms. Knight gave an overview of upcoming classes and events including Thanksgiving closures and mentioned that youth programs and classes would be taking a break that week. Ms. Jones gave an overview of October programs and upcoming events including the "Family Place Workshop," and "Waggin Tails Storytime," and mentioned that citizenship classes would begin in January. Ms. Jones stated that due to its structure as a come -and -go event occupancy limits are not being reached. ITEM NO. 5 REPORTS Library Board Chairperson Mr. Snitz informed the board about Crud Day on Saturday, November 5 and Mr. Hamilton mentioned that Shred Day would be happening at the same time. Library Board Vice Chairperson Mr. Chac asked if the citizenship classes had a specific start date and Ms. Jones stated that would be determined afterpatron surveys come in but that they would begin in January and run for twelve weeks. Mr. Chac asked if data collection on the nationality of those attending this program could be gathered. Ms. Knight stated that the organization running this program, Catholic Charities, would need to gather that info and she would find out if it was possible. Library Board Members Ms. Flannery inquired about the ghosts in the library found from the paranormal investigation teen program from last week and Ms. Jones gave an update on the program. Ms. Flannery gave an overview of the Euless Library Foundation's Biannual Book Sale. Mr. McGehee stated that he volunteered at the Boo Bash and spoke highly of the event. He also stated that the HEB Rotary is giving dictionaries to the 3rd grade children in all the elementary schools in Euless. Ms. Knight gave further detail of what this partnership entails. ITEM NO.6 PUBLIC COMMENTS LuAnn Portugal, Euless, Texas, gave an update on the latest developments in the city. ITEM NO. 7 ADJOURNMENT Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to adjourn.
