Euless City Council
November 19, 1957
Mayor Pro -tem J. S. Anderson called the
City Council in a special meeting for November 19, 1957, at 7:30 p.m.
Councilman present were S. H. Cadenhead,
Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray.

Guests and meeting with the Council were
Attorney Wm. Bondurant, Chief of Police W, M. Sustaire, Mr. Bob Brady,
representing Mayflower Investment Company, Mr. W. E. Smith, schools tax
collector for Hurst - Euless Schools, and Mr. Warren Fuller, who served the
group a steak dinner.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to
discuss with Mr. Brady, representing Mr. Collins, reasons why the City of
Euless hesitated to agree to the erection and maintenance of a swimming pool
in the proposed Collins' Park, City of Euless.
On a motion by Councilman Cadenhead,
seconded by Councilman Horton, it was moved that Attorney Wm. L. Bondurant
be instructed to draw an ordinance creating the levying of taxes in and for
the City of Euless. The motion was adopted and Attorney Bondurant so instructed.
A second motion by Councilman Cadenhead,
seconded by Councilman Horton, proposed that the City of Euless retain Mr.
W. E. Smith at an agreed fee of $1,500.00 to work up a tax system for the
City, fee to be paid if and when tax is passed and the City has the money.
The motion was adopted.
The City Secretary was instructed to
notify Mr. Smith of the Council's action.
The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
