Minutes
December 12, 2022
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Suzy McCormick called the meeting to order at 10:40 a.m. The meeting was
held at the Texas Star Conference Centre, Euless. She extended a welcome to the attendees
and guests.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Doris Brown, Joe Cannon, Weldon Cannon, Patsy Hoover, Mary Hunt, Keith Jernigan, Norma
Lively, Suzy McCormick, Anniece McKanna, Gary Parker, Helen Payton, Linda Pool, Faye
Stinneford, Peggy Vandiver, and Mavy Wright.
STAFF PRESENT
Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald and Parks and Community
Services Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
VISITORS PRESENT
Dawn Youngblood, Patty Benoit, Frank Calderon, and Councilperson Jeremy Tompkins.
Joining for lunch after the meeting were several members of Euless City Staff (Chris Barker,
Loretta Getchell, Wes Rhodes), Mayor Linda Martin, and Councilperson Tim Stinneford.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Gary Parker made a motion to accept the November14, 2022 minutes as written. Mavy
Wright seconded the motion. With unanimous approval, Ms. McCormick stated the motion
carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer Mavy Wright advised that the balance as of November 14, 2022 was $8,397.52.
A deposit of $34 was made from the money jar and $25 was collected for the O.D. Lively
memorial plaque. An expenditure of $51.42 was made for the quality enlargement of a
photo. The ending balance as of December 12 is $8,405.10.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Docents and Volunteer Report/Recruitment—Due to the inclement weather on
December 10, the City of Euless cancelled the Heritage Park Christmas. The museum
remained open with few visitors. She expressed appreciation to those who

volunteered. Docent sheets were circulated for the upcoming January Open House. She
also mentioned the resignation of Marilyn Long from the Committee and thanked her
for her service.
2. Acquisition —Gary Parker advised that he and Keith Jernigan installed the ax in the
museum.
3. Facebook—Linda Pool indicated she was granted access to the Facebook group as the
4. Plaque —Faye Stinneford and Mavy Wright stated they are finalizing the memorial
plaques.
S. Display Signs—Mavy Wright had nothing to report. However, she mentioned two
teenager brought a visitor to the museum who had limited English. They enjoyed the
museum and plan to return.
6. Publicity/Program/Speakers—Mavy Wright had no report.
7. Heritage Park —Mr. Parker had nothing to report.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - Suzy McCormick expressed appreciation to the City and
Committee members for the dedication to the Committee in 2022.
STAFF REPORT - Mr. McDonald had no report.
COMMITTEE REPORT/INPUT
1. Weldon Cannon indicated he had two more of his historical documents ready for the City
and will present them to Ray McDonald. He stated the originals are being stored at UTA
in their Special Collections.
2. Faye Stinneford asked that the Christmas decorations remain up until after the January
Open House.
3. Councilperson Jeremy Tompkins presented a short update of the development in Euless.
4. Dr. Youngblood made a presentation focused on her new book about the Greek Orthodox
Church in Euless. She stated she will donate one copy to the City of Euless.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business or discussion, Gary Parker made a motion to adjourn, Faye
Stinneford seconded the motion. Ms. McCormick declared the meeting adjourned at
11:20a.m.
