HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-12-0322'1 Called Meeting Euless City Council December 3, 1957 The City Council met in a special session on December 3, 1957, at 7:00 p.m. . Presiding was Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., with Councilmen J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton and W. 0. Murray present. Guests of the Council were Mr. Strachan of Rady Engineering Company, who further discussed house numbering for the City; Zoning Board members Warren Fuller, Blackie Miller and Alta Horton. Councilman Murray moved that R. W. Fuller's replat of tract 13 of the Alexander - Cullum Subdivision to the City of Euless be approved. The motion was adopted. A second motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, moved that the application of Mr. Dan Peters for commercial zoning of a portion of his acreage as described in his application, be tentatively approved pending the final approval upon adoption of an ordinance. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Councilman Horton moved that the City Council defer action on the application of Messrs. Dobkins and McGinty for commercial zoning of a small parcel of land out of the Kitty House Survey until the Council could secure legal advise on the matter. The motion was adopted unanimously. Councilman Cadenhead offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the formal resignation of Councilman Anders be accepted. The motion was adopted and the letter is a part of these minutes. The City Council City of Euless Assembled Gentlemen: I hope my negligence due to rushing to get moved and adjusted here has not inconvenienced the Council in it's work. I enjoyed the moments we worked together in the interests of the City of Euless. But circumstances have made it impossible for me to continue as a member of the Council. Please accept my resignation from the City Council of the City of Euless as of November 20, 1957• Yours sincerely, G. L. Anders 228 Paqe Two, Called Meetinq, Euless City Council, December 3, 1957) A final motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, proposed that instruction number 2 of October 22, 1957: "The City Secretary is instructed to write Mr. Carr P. Collins requesting permission to name the proposed park for him." and motion number 2, October 29, 1957: "that the park in Midway Park Addition, given to the City of Euless by Mr. Carr P. Collins, be named Collins Park for him and the City erect a sign, 'Collins Park, proposed City Park, City of Euless'." that each and both of these be declared null and void.
