RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING ENGINEER'S
ESTIMATE OF THE COST OF IMPROVING PIPELINE
ROAD FROM THE EAST LINE OF ARWINE ROAD TO THE
WEST LINE OF CENTRAL DRIVE; CALLING A SPECIAL
HEARING; DIRECTING ADVERTISING AND MAILING OF
NOTICE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
Section 1: The attached City Engineer's estimate of the cost of improving
Pipeline Road from the East line of Arwine Road to the West line of Central
Drive and the Engineer's Roll or Statement are approved and adopted, and it
is found and determined that the estimated amounts of the several respec-
tive items of cost of such improvements are as shown thereon. All assessments,
however, shall be made and levied by the City Council as it may deem just and
equitable, having in view the special benefits in enhanced value to be
received by such parcels of property and the owners thereof, the equities of
such owners, and the adjustment of such assessments so as to produce a sub -
stantial equality of benefits received and burdens imposed.
Section 2: On the 13th day of October , 1970, at 8:00 o'clock P.M.,
in the Council Chamber of the Municipal Building, 201 Ector Drive, Euless,
Texas, the governing body of such City will give a hearing to all owning
abutting property, or any interest therein, on any matter constitutionally
prerequisite to the validity of proposed assessments for such improvements,
and to contest the amounts of the proposed assessments, the lien and liability
thereof, the special benefits to the abutting property and owners thereof by
means of the improvements for which assessments are to be levied, and the
accuracy, sufficiency, regularity, and validity of the proceedings and con-
tract in connection with such improvements and proposed assessments.
Section 3: The City Secretary shall give notice of such hearing by adver-
tisement inserted at least three times in the Mid- Cities Daily News, the
official newspaper of the City of Euless, such newspaper also being published
in the City of Bedford, Texas. The first publication of such notice of hear-
ing to be made at least twenty -one (21) days before the date of hearing.
Section 4: The City Secretary shall give written notice of the hearing by
depositing in the United States Mail at least fourteen (14) days before the
date of the hearing, written notice of such hearing, postage prepaid in an.
envelope addressed to the owners of the respective properties abutting
such street to be improved as the names of such owners are shown on the then
current rendered tax rolls of the City of Euless and as shown on the then
current rendered tax rolls of the City of Bedford, abutting on that portion
of Pipeline Road to be improved at the addresses so shown.
Section 5: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
ADOPTED THE .25th DAY OF August , 1970, at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Euless by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays.
