A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS RECOGNIZING
FORMER COUNCIL MEMBER CHARLIE MILLER AND DEDICATING
THE SOUTHERN ENTRANCE AT THE PARKS AT TEXAS STAR IN HIS
HONOR.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas desires to recognize
Charlie Miller for 15 years of public service while serving as a member of the Euless
City Council from 1993 through 2008, including as Mayor Pro Tern for 3 years; and
WHEREAS, he attended B.A. Towson State University with majors in History and
Social Studies, where he refined the unique abilities and skills necessary for his future
success in the business and public service arenas; and
WHEREAS, he and his wife, Rose, have two daughters, Shannon Lewis and
Vanessa Ames and two grandchildren, Charlotte Lewis and Owen Ash; and
WHEREAS, while serving on the City Council, he participated in such worthy
organizations as the Euless Non-Profit Industrial Development Authority, Grapevine
Colleyville Independent School District Liaison, as well as the Euless Development
Corporation and the Half-Cent Sales Tax Education Committee; and
WHEREAS, he has maintained an exceptional record of service; motivated by
his strong sense of loyalty, his personal obligation to his fellow citizens, and a sincere
desire to continually improve his community, this remarkable gentleman has left an
indelible mark on the community he has so faithfully served; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Miller has been an avid supporter of the Parks at
Texas Star and youth sports and was instrumental in the vision and development of the
facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Euless wish to recognize and honor Charlie Miller
for his many years of service in and to the City by dedication of the southern entrance at
The Parks at Texas Star as Charlie Miller Way.
SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage,
as the law and charter in such cases provide.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 11th
day of August 2015, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstention.
