BOARD MINUTES

Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Barney Snitz asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the April 2, 2015 meeting. Marcia Brown made the motion to accept the minutes and Loretta Doty
seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed the visitors.
(W REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight commented on the monthly statistical report.
Sherry Knight introduced Lacey Fliger, Librarian in the Youth Department. Lacey shared information about
her family, work experience, and a brief description of her job responsibilities in the Youth Department.
Lacey Fliger demonstrated to the board the online registration for the Summer Reading Challenge for this year.
The Summer Reading Challenge theme this year is "Every Hero has a Story."
Sherry Knight reported AARP reported that they processed 830 returns at the library this year.
Library Staff Update: Kasey Fanucchi will start on May 18 in the Youth Department. Her position as
Librarian Assistant will be focused on the teens and teen events. Sherry Knight receives her 15-year pin at the
City Council meeting on May 12, 2015.
Library Events: 78 attended the Music Showcase; 56 attended the Get Organized event; great turn out for the
Edible Books Contest; even though Arbor Daze was rained out the library was open and everyone enjoyed
Cowboy Dan, Paddington Bear, the Wind Tunnel, and Pebbles the balloon artist.
Upcomi Library Events: Vanderveer Brothers at 7:00pm on May 18th
ng , May is "Get Caught Reading"
(W month, and Kick-Off of the Summer Reading Challenge on May 29th.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney Snitz commented on the igloo display and the Wad stations in Youth
2. Allan Gibbs gave an update on the Books for Troops and working with the VA Hospital
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
LuAnn Portugal commented on the monthly stats.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by Chris
McAllister. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
