Senior Trip to Fort Worth Stockyards Thursday, March 16, 8:45 a.m. Fort Worth Stockyards East Exchange Avenue Put on your walking shoes for this day full of fun. It starts with a train ride to the Stockyards. Once you arrive, there will be plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, shopping and dining. And, you'll want to be sure to watch the world's only twice -daily cattle drive, which is presented by the Fort Worth Herd. Real Texas cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns down East Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards National Historic District. Lunch is on your own. There will be a good amount of walking, as well as bus and train rides. Plan to arrive at 8:45 a.m. Departure time is 9:00 a.m.. The cost of the trip is $10.00, which includes transportation to the Fort Worth Stockyards. Valid Senior Center membership and registration for the trip are required. Tomlinson Flag Football League March 4 —April 22 Introduce your youngster to NFL Flag Football. Fun for boys and girls, this is an exceptional program for first-time players who want to learn the fundamentals of football or hone their skills before leaping into tackle football. There are no try -outs, because everyone makes a team. Plus, participants can play on the same team as their friends. • For children in grades 3 through 6 • It's a 5 vs. 5, non -contact, recreational, co-ed format • Participants receive NFL Flag Football Youth Flag Football Team Jersey, Flag and Belt Flag Football is an exciting sport that teaches life lessons, such as sportsmanship, dedication and discipline. Summer Camp Lottery Registration for Ages 7 to 12 It's time to start planning for Summer Adventure Camp! Euless Parks & Community Services has a three -step registration process. First, submit your application in person to enroll in the lottery system. Next, a staff member will notify you by email to confirm your enrollment. Finally, for each week of camp, you will pay a $10 deposit, which will be due before summer camp starts. Application Submission Dates: • Returning Residents: February 1 — 28* • New Residents: March 1 — 31 * • Returning Non -Residents: April 1 — 30* • Open Enrollment for those who missed deadlines: May 9* *(Dates above have been revised from February edition.) Camp Fees: • $10 deposit per week (non-refundable/transferable) - due May 3 • Residents - $165 per week (includes $10 deposit) • Non-residents - $215 per week (includes $10 deposit) We want children to have fun this summer, and we look forward to the memories we will make in Summer Adventure Camp. For more information, call 817-685-1666. St. Patrick's Day Walking Parade for Seniors Friday, March 17,11 a.m. Senior Center 300 W. Midway Drive Put on your best green attire and join the St. Patrick's Day Parade. This is a Walking Parade that winds around the Recreation Center and Senior Center. Everyone age 60 and up are invited to participate in this free event. Valid Senior Center membership and registration are required. CPR Blitz: Get Help to Repair Your Home Does your home or yard need resuscitating? Have you considered CPR? The Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) program is a joint effort between 6 Stones, and the cities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, businesses, nonprofit organizations and churches to help struggling homeowners make necessary home repairs. The CPR program provides help to homeowners who are in the greatest need of assistance and are unable to perform the necessary work themselves. The next CPR Blitz occurs April 21 and 22. Senior Center Bingo and Dinner Join us on March 23 for Bingo and Dinner at the Senior Center. Dinner will be served at 5.p.m. and Bingo will start at 5:30 p.m. BINGO costs $1.00 a card (3 card max), bring your BINGO money the day of the event. Registration is required. Tai Chi Tai Chi is back at the Senior Center! Class meets every Thursday at 5 p.m. No registration needed as class is included in your membership! Chair Volleyball Enjoy the game of volleyball while taking a seat. All levels welcome! Group meets every Monday at 11 a.m. Must be a member of the Senior Center.
