RESOLUTION BY THE EULESS CITY COUNCIL IN SUPPORT
OF H. B. 1099 PROVIDING FOR TAXATION OF LEASEHOLD
INTERESTS AS PRESENTED TO THE SIXTY - SECOND
LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS
WHEREAS, Article 7173 of the Revised Civil Statutes of the
State of Texas now provides for the taxation of certain leasehold
interests where such property under lease belongs to a governmental
or public entity, authority or body politic, and
WHEREAS, Article 7174 of the Revised Civil Statutes of the
State of Texas providing the method for valuation of such leasehold
interests for taxation purposes has proven unworkable, inequitable in
its application and the subject of much controversy, and
WHEREAS, legislation for the correction of such problem,
known as H. B. 1099, has now been presented for the consideration of
the Sixty- Second Legislature of the State of Texas, now assembled, and
WHEREAS, it is the view of the Euless City Council that such
legislation as presented would favorably remedy the inequities of
existing law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Euless
respectfully urges and requests the Sixty- Second Legislature of the
State of Texas to favorably consider and enact H. B. 1099 as
presented to such assembly.
