Parks and Leisure Services Board
December 05, 2022
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:51 p.m. On
Monday, December, 05, 2022, in the Parks Maintenance Building by Chairman Jones. Other Board
Members present: Magen Brown, Steve Doty, Isha Sharma, Roger Sickler and Jason Reyes.
Members absent: John Raab and Kay Seger.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Daniel Dearborn, Parks Superintendent Ryan Turner and Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
Visitors present: None present.
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the October
03, 2022 regular meeting. Steve Doty made the motion to approve the minutes as presented and
was seconded by Roger Sickler. The vote was unanimous.

II. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for October 1st — 31st 2022:
a. Total man hours for October 11t — 31s' = 627
• 398 Horticulture
• 103 Forestry
• 94 Greenhouse
• 0 Special Projects
• 32 Training
➢ Trimmed trees on Pipeline and at Blessing Branch
➢ Removed Chinese Tallow on Live Oak Ct.
➢ Stepped trees up at greenhouse
➢ Rye seeded Dog Park and Heritage
➢ Tree spaded two Bur Oaks at Midway
➢ Removed two dead trees at Main St. and one at West Park
➢ Stump grind at Midway, Bob Eden, and Blessing Branch
➢ Added playgrounds chips to Bob Eden
➢ Trimmed bushes at City Hall, Fire Admin, Library, Westpark Way, and Main St.
➢ Began color change out
➢ Put out wild flower seed at Bob Eden
➢ Trimmed suckers on Hwy 10
b. Total man hours for November 1st — 30th = 663
• 102 Horticulture
• 243 Forestry
• 91 Greenhouse
• 203 Special Projects
• 24 Training
➢ Finished color change out
➢ Removed Chinese Tallow on Live Oak Ct. and raised other trees
➢ Removed dead trees at Wilshire Park
➢ Removed stumps at PATSN
➢ Collected acorns for planting
➢ Trimmed trees and shrubs on West Park fence line
➢ Trimmed trees at Blessing Branch
➢ Trimmed shrubs at J.A. Carr Park and Main St. medians
➢ Planted 12 trees at Glade Parks trail
➢ Put up Christmas decorations

III. Parks and Community Services Reports
a. Community Services Report — Ray McDonald
• Lights have been ordered for the Glade Parks Trail and the poles will be installed
this month. The lights will be placed about 100ft. apart.
• Projects taking place at the Euless Family Life Center which include enclosing the
pump room, removing the bird netting from the awning at the entrance, repainting
the deck at the Aquatic Center, New Slide at the indoor pool, New Kitchen
Equipment at the Senior Center as well as a new AV System.
• New fitness equipment has been installed at the Euless Family Life Center.
• The parking lot at the Parks at Texas Star North is being expanded to double the
size.
• The batting cages of Parks at Texas Star South have been demolished, the padding
on the outfield on Veterans Field is being replaced, there are new scoreboards
being added and a new concession trailer has been purchased.
• The Pickleball Courts should be finished within the week weather permitting.
There will be lights on the courts that will be on a timer. There is still work that
needs to be done in the parking lot to meet ADA requirements and rules need to be
established for the usage of the courts.
Chairman Jones thanked the staff for their reports.

VII. Input from City Council Members and Visitors
No visitors present.
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
