Parks and Leisure Services Board
January 09, 2023
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 7:00 PM. On
Monday, January, 09, 2023, in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Jones. Other Board Members present: Steve Doty, Kay Seger, Isha Sharma, John Raab, Jason
Reyes and Roger Sickler. Members absent: Magen Brown.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Recreation
Superintendent Elizabeth Johnson, Parks Manager Daniel Dearborn, Parks Superintendent Ryan
Turner, Aquatics Supervisor Michael Radoyevich and Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
Visitors present: None
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
December 05, 2022 regular meeting. Roger Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Steve Doty. The vote was unanimous.
I. Election of Officers
Chairman Jones advised that the current Park Board Officers are: Chairman — Randy Jones,
Vice Chairman —John Raab and Secretary —Steve Doty.
The current Tree Board Officers are: Chairman — Jason Reyes and Vice Chairman — Roger
Sickler.
Chairman Jones opened the floor for officer nominee's and John Raab made the motion to
keep the nominations the same. The floor was open for discussion and there was a
unanimous vote to keep the nominations the same.
The new 2023 Park Board officers are: Chairman — Randy Jones, Vice Chairman — John
Raab and Secretary —Steve Doty.

The new 2023 Tree Board officers are: Chairman —Jason Reyes and Vice Chairman — Roger
Sickler.
11. Board Member Reports
a. Magen Brown — Preserve & McCormick: Not present.
b. Steve Doty — West Park & Wilshire: No items to report.
c. John Raab —Villages of Bear Creek & Reflection Park: No items to report.
d. Roger Sickler — Bob Eden & Trailwood: No items to report.
e. Jason Reyes — Midway & Blessing Branch: No items to report.
f. Kay Seger —J.A. Carr & Kiddy Carr: No items to report.
g. Isha Sharma — Heritage & South Euless: No items to report.
h. Chairman Jones — Parks at Texas Star: No items to report.
Ill. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for December 15t — 315t :
a. Total man hours for December V — 315t = 632
• 113 Horticulture
• 225 Forestry
• 74 Greenhouse
• 220 Special Projects
• 0 Training
➢ Removed playground from McCormick Park
➢ Mulched leaves in all Parks
➢ Chemical spraying at PATS, City Hall, Midway, and Mid Cities
➢ Trimmed shrubs at Heritage Park
➢ Replaced boards on Kiddie Carr bridge
➢ Mulched trees at Christmas Tree recycle
➢ Cut back dormant grasses and Russian sage on medians
➢ Continued Blessing Branch project
I111. Parks and Community Services Reports
a. Recreation Report — Elizabeth Johnson
• Parade of Lights winner was the truck entered in by Production Steel Rule Die
Services, Inc. — Russell Owen is the owner.
• Aquatics & Seniors came together and hosted a Grandparents & Kids event. There
was swimming and gingerbread house decorating. The event was loved by all.

• The Senior Center hosted a trip to members that signed up. The trip was to the
Dallas Arboretum and 24 members were in attendance.
• The Daddy/Daughter Valentine's Dance will be held on December 03, 2023 from
6:30 PM — 8:30 PM at the Texas Star Conference Center.
• Pre -School Furniture has been added and is a huge upgrade. There are a few
pieces that we are still waiting to be added.
• Pickleball courts are in the final stages.
• Patio furniture at the Senior Center has been added and has been fenced in. This
has added additional space for the seniors.
• Aquatics — The natatorium play feature has been painted. The pool was drained
and Michael Radoyevich and Cayden Bozeman acid washed the pool and features
and this has given the natatorium a refresh.
• The bird netting has been removed.
• The pump room has been enclosed and spray foamed. This will help in the freezing
temperatures.
b. Parks Report — Ryan Turner
• McCormick Park — replacing the playground equipment. The new playground
equipment is a little bigger. They are in the final stages to complete this project. They are
forming up border and then they will put in playground mulch.
• Blessing Branch — Starting dirt work and will be working in different stages.
• Tree Recycling — There were a plethora of trees that were dropped off but it was
stated that in the future they feel more advertising is needed for this event.
• The mulch from the tree recycling is given away and the Parks department will help
shovel the mulch in a truck or trash bags.
c. Community Services Report — Ray McDonald
• Ray McDonald announced his retirement. Ray McDonald retired with 28 years of
service with the City of Euless and has worked in various roles. Ray thanked the
Park Board for their service and willingness to work together and invited each
member to attend his retirement party that will be held on January 27, 2023 at
2:00 PM at the Senior Center.
Chairman Jones thanked the staff for their reports.

No visitors present.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
