HomeMy WebLinkAbout71-292 11-09-1971RESOLUTION NO. 292 A RESOLUTION CALLING PUBLIC HEARING FOR 8:00 P.M., NOVEMBER 23, 1971, TO CONSIDER PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; PRO - VIDING FOR PUBLIC NOTICE AND THE PUBLICA- TION THEREOF AND THAT SUCH ANNEXATION BE ACCOMPLISHED PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 970, ACTS OF 1963, 58th LEGISLATURE, R.C.S., TEXAS, AND THE EULESS CITY CHARTER. WHEREAS, the residents of the area locally known as the Huntington Place Addition and Oak Crest Estates, an area adja- cent to the southeast city limits of the City of Euless, Texas, have petitioned and made known to the Euless City Council that they desire to have such area annexed into and made an integral part of the City of Euless, and WHEREAS, the area locally known as the Huntington Place Addition and Oak Crest Estates is presently a part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, a home rule city adjacent to the City of Euless, Texas, and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has indicated an agreement to deannex an area of land hereinafter described encom:.,assing and containing such Huntington Place Addition and Oak Crest Estates provided that the City of Euless shall forthwith annex such land and incorporate it into the Euless city limits, and WHEREAS, the City of Euless has agreed with the City of Fort Worth to annex certain uninhabited land and area lying within the corporate city limits of Euless, Texas, and being that land contained within the proposed right-of-way expansion for the exchange of Highway 360, Spur Highway 350, ==sic: <way 183 and th:: main thoroughfare extending north toward the Fort . north Regional Airport, said tract being hereinafter specifically de- scribed. O THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED :r Y THE CITY COUNCIL Or THE CIT' 02 EULESS, TEXAS: I. __.ere shall be held a hearing before theu1esL, City Council at 8 :00 e' clock p.n.. on the 23rd day of November, 1971, r i^a at which hearing all interested parties shalll be given an oppor- tunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the territory particularly described by metes and bounds in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and lying adjacent to the City of Euless, Texas. II. That notice of such public hearing shall be published at • least one time in a newspaper published for circulation in the City of Euless, Texas, and the area to be annexed, such notice to be published not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to such hearing. Such proposed annexation shall be accomplished in accordance with the provisions of Article 970(a), Acts of 1963, 58th Legis- lature, Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, and the Euless City Charter. IV. This Resolution shall become effective immediately following its adoption. ADOPTED this the 9th day of November, 1971, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, by a vote of 3 ayes and 0 nays. APPROVED: ATTEST: City Secretary 4,;;At'f/1/4/ Mayor "EXHIBIT A" DESCRIPTION FOR AREA TO BE ANNEXED BY EULESS Beginning at a point for corner in the present Common Fort Worth and Euless City limit line in the north right -of -way line of Pipe Line Terminal Road (County Road No. 3005), said point for corner also being in the south line of Lot 6, Block 2, J. E. Whitner Estates Addition, and 67 feet west from the southeast corner of said lot. THENCE North, along and with the Common Fort Worth and Euless city limit line to a point for corner in the north line of Lot 27, Block 2, J. E. Whitner Estates, and 67 feet west from the northeast corner of said lot. THENCE continuing North, along and with the Common Fort Worth and Euless city limit line a distance of 1400 feet, more or less, to a point for corner in the south line of Block 10 of Oak Crest Estates Addition produced west. THENCE East, along and with the Common Fort Worth - Euless city limit line, to and along the South line of Block 10 of Oak Crest Estates Addition to a point for corner at the southeast corner of Lot 11R1 and the southwest corner of Lot 14R in Block 10 of said Oak Crest Estates Addition. THENCE, along and with the Common Fort Worth and Euless city limit line: Along the westerly line of Lot 14R northeasterly a distance of 180 feet to its northwest corner in the South right -of -way line of Keon Lane; THENCE North 3 Degrees -18 Minutes East 50 feet to a point for corner in the north right -of -way line of Keon Lane and the Southwest corner of 16 -R -1 in Block 9 of Oak Crest Estates. THENCE North 3 Degrees -18 Minutes East along and with the west line of Lots 16 -R -1 and 5 -R -1, Block 9, Oak Crest Estates, 225 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 5 -R -1, in the south right -of -way line of Atkerson Lane. THENCE Northeasterly, to the southwest corner of Lot 19 -R, Block 8, Oak Crest Estates, in the north right -of -way line of Atkerson Lane. THENCE North 13 Degrees -53 Minutes West along and with the west lines of Lots 19 -R and 8 -I,; Block 8, Oak Crest Estates 213.1 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 8 -R, in the south right -of -way line of Huitt Lane. THENCE Northwesterly, at 60 feet the southwest corner of Lot 18, Block 7, Oak Crest Estates; at 182 feat the northwest corner of Lot 18 and the south- west corner of Lot 9, Block 7, Oak Crest Estates; and in all 306.2 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 9, Block 7, Oak Crest Estates in the south right -of -way line of Slaughter Lane. 1 THENCE Northwesterly, at 50 feet the north right -of -way line of Slaughter Lane; and the Southwest corner of Lot 13, Block 6, Oak Crest Estates; and in all 194 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 13 in Block 6. THENCE Easterly, along and with the northerly lines of Lots 13, 14, 15, and 1, Oak Crest Estates to the north corner of said lot 1, in the west right -of- way line of John Vernon Lane. THENCE Northwesterly, along and with the westerly right -of -way line of John Vernon Lane to its intersection with the westerly line of Lot 20 -R in Block 5, Oak Crest Estates, produced Southwesterly. THENCE Northeasterly, to and along the westerly line of said Lot 20 -R to its northwest corner, in the south line of Lot 4 -R,, THENCE West, along the south line of said Lot 4 -R to its southwest corner. THENCE North along the west line of said Lot 4 -R to its northwest corner, in the South right -of -way line of Martin Lane. THENCE Northeasterly to the Southeast corner of Lot 21 -R, Block 4, Oak Crest Estates, in the north right -of -way line of Martin Lane THENCE North along the west line of said Lot 21 -R to its northwest corner, in the south line of Lot 6 in Block 4, Oak Crest Estates. THENCE West along the south line of said Lot 6 to its southwest corner. THENCE North, at 135 feet the northwest corner of said Lot 6 in the south right -of -way line of Alexander Lane, at 105 feet the southwest corner of Lot 6 -R, Block 1, Oak Crest Estates, in the north right -of -way line of Alexander Lane, and in all 310 feet to the northwest corner of said Lot 6 -R. THENCE, continuing along and with the Common Fort Worth- Euless city limit line: West 20 feet, and North 486.8 feet.to a point for corner in the south right -of -way line of State Highway No. 183, and East 2080 feet to a point for corner THENCE South 115 feet to a point for corner. THENCE West 1050 feet to a point for corner in the east right -of -way line of Huntington Drive. THENCE Southeasterly, along and with the Easterly right-of-way .line of Huntington Drive, approimately 300 feet to a point for corner at its intersection with the middle of a natural surface drain running northwesterly and southeasterly. . r • THENCE Southeasterly, along and with the middle of the natural surface drain, with its meanders, 2800 feet, more or less, to a point for corner at its confluence with the middle of a natural surface drain running generally westerly. THENCE along and with the middle of said natural surface drain, 900 feet, more or less, to a point for corner at its intersection with the south line of Block 14 of Huntington Place Addition. THENCE west, along and with the south line of Block 14 of Huntington Place Addition to a point for corner at its intersection with the east right -of -way line of Delphia Drive, produced north. THENCE South, to and along with the east line of Delphia Drive to a point for corner in the north right -of -way line of Terminal Pipe Line Road (County Road No. 3005.) THENCE Southwesterly and West along and with the north right -of -way line of Terminal Pipe Line Road (County Road No. 3005) to the place of beginning and containing approximately 180 acres of land.
