A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF CITY OF
EULESS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO ASSIST
CERTAIN OTHER COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITIES
EXPERIENCING A DECLARED STATE OF CIVIL
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the 61st Legislature of the State of Texas has by legis-
lative enactment, provided for and authorized inter -local assistance
between county and municipal law enforcement agencies in meeting the
demands that might be imposed in quelling a state of declared civil
emergency, and;
WHEREAS, such legislation does authorize the governing body of a
municipality within the State by appropriate resolution to provide for
the deployment of its regularly employed law enforcement officials to
another county or municipality requesting same for the purpose of as-
sisting in the quelling of a declared state of civil emergency, and;
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Euless, Texas, to authorize the assistance of its regularly employed
law enforcement officials when necessary and upon appropriate request
to assist in the quelling of a declared state of civil emergency in
another municipality or county;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:
That the Director of Public Safety of the City of Euless, Texas,
is hereby authorized to make provision for the deployment of the
regularly employed law enforcement officers of the City of Euless to
any county or municipality requesting same, where the Mayor or other
officer authorized to do so has declared a state of civil emergency in
such other municipality or county and there exists in such other county
or municipality a need for the services of additional law enforcement
officers to protect the health, life and property of such other county
or municipality, its inhabitants and the visitors thereto by reason of
riot, unlawful assembly characterized by the use of force and violence,
or threat thereof by three or more persons acting together without law-
ful authority, or during time of national disaster or man -made calamity.
2.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately following its
adoption.

by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Euless, Texas.
