WHEREAS, a major thoroughfare following the route of Watauga - Smithfield
and Cheek - Sparger Roads is designated as a principal artery in the Federal -
Aid Urban System, and
WHEREAS, the present rate of growth in Northeast Tarrant County and
in the area of the Regional Airport will require large volumes of traffic
movement along this route, and
WHEREAS, the six cities which encompass or bound on this route are
desirous of cooperating with the State and Federal Authorities in its
improvement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:
That the Consulting Engineering Firm of Knowlton- Ratliff - English-
Collins be and are hereby authorized to prepare and submit a request to
the Texas Highway Department in behalf of the City of Euless for the fund-
ing of this project under the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1970 and a request
that the Texas Highway Department process such an application as soon as
such funds are made available to the State.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 11th day of July , 1972, by a vote of
5 ayes and 0 nays at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Euless, Texas.
