BOARD MINUTES
August 6, 2015

Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Barney Snitz asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the June 4, 2015 meeting. Loretta Doty made the motion to accept the minutes and Mike McGehee
seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed the visitors.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight is on vacation and Angela Jones, Senior Librarian Youth Department, will be giving the report
this month for her.
Angela Jones commented on the monthly statistical report.
Angela Jones introduced Kasey Fanucchi, Library Assistant in the Youth Department. Kasey shared
information about her family, her education background, and a brief description of her job responsibilities in the
Youth Department.
Angela Jones commented on the revamping of the library newsletter. She also commented on the Pop-Up
Library that we will have at events. We will be able to issue new library cards and check out books.
Angela Jones commented on the Summer Reading Challenge.
Library Staff Update: Carolyn Edge, Library Assistant in the Reference Department will be retiring on
August 31, 2015.
Library Events: Havana NRG at the Leon Hogg Amphitheater on June 27th, Me and My Monkey on August
21'at the Leon Hogg Amphitheater, Moonlit Purls on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 6pm to 8pm in the Board
Room, and Operation Back 2 School on August 22, 2015 at Campus
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney Snitz commented Havana NRG and the Dallas Zoo program.
2. Allan Gibbs gave an update on the Books for Troops and working with the VA Hospital.
3. Loretta Doty commented on the ELF tile project.

CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
Mary Lib Saleh commented on ELF tile project and the Operation Back 2 School with 6Stones.
LuAnn Portugal commented on Glade Parks stores opening in August, 2015.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by Marcia
Brown. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30p.m.
