HomeMy WebLinkAbout74-341 07-20-1974RESOLUTION NO. 341 WHEREAS, the Euless City Council has enacted Ordinance No. 474 authorizing such Council by appropriate resolution to establish additional Municipal Courts for the City of Euless and the appointment of additional Municipal Judges and /or Associate Municipal Judges for the staffing of same and the performance of judicial functions provided under the Ordinances and Charter of the City of Euless, the statutes, Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and WHEREAS, there exists a compelling need for the estab- lishment of an additional Municipal Court and the appointment of an additional Municipal Judge to preside over same at this time: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS AS FOLLOWS: I The existing Municipal Court of the City of Euless, Texas is herewith designated as "Euless Municipal Court 'A'." II That there is herewith established to exist until same be terminated by further action of this Council another Municipal Court for the City of Euless to be designated and known as "Municipal Court 'B'." III That such Municipal Courts shall each be of equal dignity and stature, one with the other with the Judges thereof authorized and entitled to perform each and every, all and singular the duties and acts of the Municipal Judge of the City of Euless as allowed by the Charter and Ordinances of said City and the statutes, Constitu- tion and laws of the State of Texas. IV That there is hereby created the office of Municipal Judge, Court "B" of the City of Euless and Mr. George Boring, an attorney at law and resident of the City of Euless, is herewith and hereby appointed as the Municipal Judge of such Court. V That the present Municipal Judge of the City of Euless, the Honorable Bruce Ebert, be and he is herewith and hereby designated as Municipal Judge of Court "A" of the City of Euless. VI Any cases or proceedings pending on the docket of either of such Municipal Courts may, in the discretion of the Judge thereof, be transferred from one of said Courts to the other and the Judges thereof may, in their discretion, exchange benches from time to time. All process, writs, bonds, recognizances, judgment entries or other obligations or functions executed or entered by either of said Judges irrespective of the docket of which Court same be entered upon or irrespective of the Court to which same shall be returnable shall be valid and binding. Each of such Judges shall have concurrent jurisdiction one with the other and shall each have and exercise the jurisdiction prescribed and conferred by the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Euless and the statutes, laws and Constitution of the State of Texas.
