HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-09 Euless Today1011 * September Dear Citizens, Do you realize that Euless is home to more than 3,000 people from Tonga? They left the Kingdom of Tonga and their homes in the South Pacific, to settle in our City in the mid-1970s. Those first Tongans were seeking a better life for their families and many of them found jobs with DFW International Airport and the airlines. No matter how far away Tongans are from their South Pacific home, they support each other and the community that they live in. The Euless Tongan Community Committee is a prime example of how Tongans look after their neighbors. Their mission focuses on health awareness, higher education and cultural awareness for all residents. This committee has hosted walks and educational presentations to raise awareness of diabetes, holds blood drives for Carter BloodCare and raises money for college scholarships. To learn more about the Euless Tongan Community Committee, visit the committee's Facebook page. THE OFFICIAL T 'Puna loN of EULESS N A P P Y laoi a Did you know?
