WHEREAS, the City of Euless has received a request from the
Dallas /Fort Worth Airport Board to close Minters Chapel Road through-
out the proposed airport golf course and recreational facility, and
WHEREAS, the Airport Board has acknowledged the necessity of
establishing an alternate route into the airport area by the improve-
ment of Glade Road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless and the Airport Board have worked
closely together in the implementation and development of traffic
arteries in and to the airport proper, and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council takes note of the Airport
Board's efforts to construct and create a golf and recreational
facility to serve both airport visitors and citizens of the Mid -
Cities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless has without fail, responded
affirmatively to each and every road closing requested by the Air -
port Board throughout the history of the Dallas /Fort Worth Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, that upon final determination of a date for completion
and method of financing the improvements to Glade Road as a replacement
for Minters Chapel Road, the Euless City Council will proceed to
close Minters Chapel Road as requested by the Airport Board.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 23rd day of May, 1978, at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless by a vote of 5
ayes and 0
