A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF EULESS TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A JUVENILE LAW
ENFORCEMENT UNIT
WHEREAS, the current manpower and equipment are inadequate in
identifying and apprehending juvenile offenders, and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless does not have sufficient financial
resources to provide its law enforcement agency with this manpower and
equipment, and
WHEREAS, the additional manpower and equipment will allow the City of
Euless law enforcement agency to increase its capability in the basic function
of law enforcement, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this City Council that the best interest
of the City of Euless will be served by participating in this cooperative
program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:
1. The City of Euless desires to participate in the development
of a juvenile law enforcement unit.
2. This City understands that the Texas Criminal Justice
Division is providing 80 per cent funding for the proc,ram
during the year March 1, 1979, through February 28, 1980.
This City further understands that this program is to continue
for a period of three (3) additional years and that the Texas
Criminal Justice Division will provide funding based on a
twenty (20) per cent annual reduction for this three years.
At the end of four (4) years, all funding will be assumed
by the City of Euless.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 9th day of January , 1979, at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas.
