WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, has qualified for cer-
tain funds under the Federal Community Development Act which
project funds are in the amount of $162,000.00 and will be made
available through the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, the agency
serving as administrator for such Act for Tarrant County; and
WHEREAS, such funds shall be used for the construction of
certain street and drainage improvements to Midway Drive in the
City of Euless, Texas; and
WHEREAS, after submission of such project for bids, Ashland -
Warren, Inc., the low bidder, has bid the cost of such project at
$216,144.75; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Euless, Texas, to
proceed with such project with the City assuming responsibility
for payment of the cost of such project as same exceeds the avail-
able Community Development Project funds; and
WHEREAS the City of Euless, Texas desires to additionally
increase the scope of such project to provide additional drain-
age improvements at other points serving such area of Midway Drive,
so as to further alleviate storm drainage problems on Midway
Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Euless, Texas, in regular session duly convened, that:
I.
The City of Euless, Texas, does accept the Community Develop-
ment Project Grant in the amount of $162,000.00 for application
toward repaving and drainage improvements on Midway Drive between
Ector Drive and North Main Streets in the City of Euless, Texas.
II.
The City of Euless, Texas, does request the Tarrant County
Commissioners Court to accept the bid for such repaving and improve-
' ments of Ashland - Warren, Incorporated, in the sum of $216.144.75.
The City of Euless, Texas, shall pay the cost of such project
in excess of the Community Development Project Grant funds of
$162,000.00.
The City of Euless, Texas, authorizes the City Manager of
such City to negotiate with such contractor the cost of providing
additional storm drain inlets and related storm drainage pipe
at the intersections of Stonewall Drive and Freestone Drive with
Midway Drive to intercept and divert additional storm waters prior
to entry upon Midway drive in accordance with proposals of the
City Engineer of the City of Euless, Texas, and to report same
to the Euless City Council for approval thereof.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Euless, Texas, at a regularly
scheduled meeting on this the 25th day of September, 1979, by a
vote of 3 ayes, 0 nays and 0 abstentions.
