Minutes
April 10, 2023
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m. by Chairperson Suzy McCormick and was
held at the Heritage Museum, Euless.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Doris Brown, Michele Burger, Mary Hunt, Keith Jernigan, Suzy McCormick, Anniece
McKanna, Helen Payton, Linda Pool, and Joe Robinson.
STAFF PRESENT
Assistant City Manager Wes Rhodes and Parks and Community Services Administrative
Secretary Jodie Dunn.
VISITORS PRESENT
None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Due to a lack of quorum, the approval of the March minutes will be postponed until the May
meeting.
TREASURER'S REPORT
No report.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Docents and Volunteer Report/Recruitment—Linda Pool distributed signup sheets for
the May and June Open House events. She stated there will be a private tour on
Saturday, April 15 at noon from some women from the Saginaw United Methodist
Church. She mentioned that there will not be a Commission meeting in July or August,
but there will still be Open House events on the second Saturdays from noon until 4pm.
2. Acquisition —Linda Pool stated she is waiting for a frame sale so she can complete the
framing of the Fuller newspaper article she brought to the March meeting.
3. Facebook—Linda Pool reported the Facebook page is active and working well. She
placed a post in two Facebook groups announcing the April Open House. It was

mentioned that there were 19 guests that day. She asked us to share the posts to
encourage participation.
4. Plaque —a plaque is ready to be placed.
5. Display Signs —No report
6. Publicity/Program/Speakers—No report
7. Heritage Park —No report
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - No report
STAFF REPORT - Mr. Rhodes mentioned that Duane Strawn will become the new Parks
and Community Services Director on May 1, 2023. He is formerly from the City of Grand
Prairie.
COMMITTEE REPORT/INPUT
1. Michele Burger stated she was in the process of gathering historical recordings from
several tenured businesses in Euless. Not many recordings have been done recently.
2. Anniece McKanna invited the Committee members to attend an upcoming 90th birthday
celebration for Peggy Vandiver on Saturday, April 29 from 1-3pm at Texas Star.

There being no further business or discussion, the meeting adjourned at 10:35a.m.
