HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-509 07-28-1981RESOLUTION NO. 509 WHEREAS, Texas Power & Light Company, the franchisee for the electrical utility service to the City of Euless, Texas, has applied to the City of Euless for a rate increase; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 43 of the Texas Public Utility Regulatory Act, the Euless City Council, by appropriate resolution and after hearing and notice as required by such Act, did stay the implementation of such rate increase for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days from April 10, 1981; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 43 of such Act, it is the desire of the governing body of the City of Euless, after appropriate notice to such utility, to additionally stay and suspend the implementation of such rate increase for an additional thirty (30 days from August 8, 1981, for the purpose of allowing additional time for the consideration of data supporting such request, for the conduct of public hearings in connection therewith, and for receiving the ruling of the Public Utilities Commission concerning said utility rate increase request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, in regular session, duly convened, that the pending rate increase request of Texas Power & Light Company be and the same is hereby extended for an additional thirty (30) days, for a total sum of one hundred fifty (150) days beyond the date on which the schedule of rates would other- wise have gone into effect, for the purpose of allowing additional time for consideration of data, conduct of public hearings, and receiving the ruling of the Public Utilities Commission relating to same. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the rates of Texas Power & Light Company for electric service within the City in effect on March 6, 1981, shall continue in force during the aforesaid period of suspension. ADOPTED by the City Council of Euless, Texas, at a regular meeting on the 28th day of July, 1981, by a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions. APPROVED: Harold D. Samuels, ayor
