WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, and the Dallas -Fort
Worth Regional Airport are neighboring political subdivisions
established under the laws of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, a close relationship and spirit of cooperation
has existed between such entities from the formative stages of
the establishment of such regional airport; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of officials of the City of
Euless, Texas, to continue such relationship and a spirit of
mutual cooperation for the benefit and growth of both such
entities, their respective citizens and users; and
WHEREAS, the Dallas -Fort Worth Regional Airport has pro-
posed certain expansion which does include the construction of
a major parallel runway upon the western edge of such airport
facility; and
WHEREAS, prior meetings between authorities of the
Dallas -Fort Worth Regional Airport and officials of the City of
Euless, Texas, have reflected that such parallel runway will
effect an increase in air traffic within the proximity of and
across the corporate limits of the City of Euless, Texas; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of officials of the City of
Euless, Texas, to maintain continuing contact and cooperative
effort with the Dallas -Fort Worth Regional Airport Authority in
the planning and construction of such parallel runway and the
establishment of rules and regulations appertaining to its
usage so as to maximize the benefit thereof to the Dallas -Fort
Worth Regional Airport Authority and concurrently minimize any
attendant consequences of noise and danger from such usage to
the citizenry of the City of Euless, Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, in regular meeting duly convened, that
the City of Euless, Texas, does request of the Dallas -Fort Worth
Regional Airport Board and its administrative officials noti-
fication as to all hearings and meetings to be held with regard
to the development of such parallel runway and an opportunity
for Euless to participate therein so as to achieve in a
cooperative manner the objectives and safeguards hereinbefore
recitted.
The City Council does direct that a copy of this Resolu-
tion, following its adoption, be forwarded by the Euless City
Secretary to the Executive Director of the Dallas -Fort Worth
Regional Airport and each of the members of the Dallas -Fort
Worth Regional Airport Board and Euless does request that the
City Secretary of the City of Euless be advised of any meetings
or hearings with respect to such parallel runway so as to afford
an opportunity for attendance and participation by officials of
the City of Euless, Texas.
ADOPTED by the City Council of Euless, Texas, at a regu-
larly scheduled meeting on this the 25th day of May, 1982, by
a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays and 0 abstentions.
