WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has been a member of the Fort
Worth Consortium for Employment and Training Programs since 1973; and,
WHEREAS, the Consortium membership consists of the Cities of
Arlington, Euless, Fort Worth, Haltom City, and White Settlement, and,
WHEREAS, each City Council of the Consortium member cities have
approved a resolution indicating their desire to continue to be a
member of the Fort Worth Consortium in FY 1984 -85; and,
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Texas has designated the
Fort Worth Consortium as a Service Delivery Area (SDA) for the Job
Training Partnership Act (JTPA) programs; and,
WHEREAS, JTPA mandates public /private partnerships; and
WHEREAS, JTPA further mandates that forty percent of all funds
be expended for youth programs; and
WHEREAS the proposed youth Job Pledge Program is designed to
fulfill the spirit of JTPA;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT AS A MEMBER OF THE CONSORTIUM THE
CITY OF EULESS PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF APRIL 15, 1985 AS YOUTH JOB
PLEDGE WEEK.

RESOLUTION NO. 85- 587
WHEREAS, under Section 10A of the Library Systems Act, as amended (Article 5446a,
Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), the "governing bodies of two - thirds of the member
libraries of a major resource system may elect, for the purposes of administering
the receipt and dispersal of services under the Act within their area to form a
regional library system . . .;" and
WHEREAS, the duly appointed representatives of member libraries of the North
Texas Library System have voted to petition their governing authorities to form
a Regional Library System organized as a nonprofit corporation.
RESOLVE THAT the City Council of the City of Euless authorizes the members of the
North Texas Library System Advisory Council, who are James Althaus, Linda
Claytor, Belinda Fenter, Kenneth Cox, Joan Coleman, Althea Forbis, and Alice
Henry to incorporate the North Texas Library System as a non - profit corporation.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Euless, Texas, on this 22nd day of January, 1985.
