WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program is a quality
Professional Development Program which was designed and written by a
former city secretary; and
WHEREAS, said program has been administered by the program director in
cooperation with the Association of City Clerks and Secretaries of Texas
for the past seventeen years; and
WHEREAS, over 12,000 city officials have participated and derived benefit
from this program which has been and continues to remain educationally
and professionally responsible to the ever changing technical and
administrative needs of Texas cities, towns, and villages; and
WHEREAS, State Representative Charles Evans has introduced HB 2092 which
will provide formal State recognition to the Certification Program as a
NO COST support to the on -going efforts of Texas' cities, towns, and
villages in their continuing efforts to improve and maintain local govern-
ment efficiency and effectiveness by training local government officials;
and
WHEREAS, the Certification Program has demonstrated its value by improving
the performance of the City Clerk while lowering the cost of municipal
government for citizens of Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council of the City of Euless supports the recognition of the
Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program and respectfully urges
State Legislators to approve passage of HB 2092; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Texas
Senators and State Representatives urging them to support this vital piece
of legislation in the 69th Session of the Legislature of the State of Texas.
