CHAIRMAN'S REPORT— Ms. McCormick welcomed the new members and advised the group of
the Christmas luncheon at Texas Star to be held on December 11. We will have a short meeting
at 10:45am and lunch following at 11:30am.
STAFF REPORT— Mr. Strawn advised that there will be many Parks and Community Services staff
on hand at the Heritage Park Christmas, but he encouraged the members to be available as well
for tours. He also indicated the City is evaluating the foundation issues at the museum. He
further stated he had brought a box of Tshirts, hats, and denim jackets for anyone who wanted
them.
COMMITTEE REPORT / INPUT
1. There was discussion about displaying the Victrola that was recently donated. Keith Jernigan
did a short demonstration and recommended placement in a visible place at the museum.
2. Linda Pool stated that Susan Weinzapfel had returned the files, apparel, and notebooks
from her husband, Andy. Andy had an extensive file on research he had done about Mosier
Valley and documents he worked on with Weldon Cannon. Due to the volume of
paperwork submitted, Linda requested help from the members to sort through the material.
Mary Hunt and Keith Jernigan volunteered to assist. It was suggested we reach out to the
members of Mosier Valley for background information.
In order to prepare for the Heritage Park Christmas event, a plan was made to set up the
Christmas tree and decorations on November 28 at 10:30am. However, the decorations are
in storage and assistance will be needed from the Parks and Community staff to access
them.
Chairperson McCormick declared the meeting adjourned at 10:50am.
Respectfully submitted by:
Anniece McKanna, Committee Secretary
