SHOWING ENDORSEMENT AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BASE BUDGET FOR
THE PRESERVATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF HISTORIC THEMES ALONG
PORTIONS OF NORTH MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council, Euless Beautification
Committee, Euless Parks Department, Euless Recreation De-
partment, and the Euless Sesquicentennial committee, have
identified a need to establish a commitment from the afore -
named groups for the preservation and enhancement of historic
themes along portions of North Main Street, Euless; and
WHEREAS, including all of North Main Street, with target area
being between Midway Park (the first City park) and Mid -
Cities Boulevard, (the oldest standing building, McCormick
Barn); and
WHEREAS, while all of Euless Main Street was surveyed, this
segment was selected based on traffic volumes, historic
value, available right -of -way and landscape space, enhance-
ment of existing retail establishments, and undeveloped
acreage for continuance of theme at developer cost; and
WHEREAS, a three to five year concerted effort is needed by
the aforenamed groups to achieve incremental improvements
from a base budget, foundation awards, and developers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Euless, Texas, that the City of Euless endorses this
project and is establishing the base budget for such project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City
Council on the 14th day of January, 1986, by a vote of 5 ayes,
0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
