WHEREAS, the City of Euless wishes to apply for a grant
with the State of Texas for a Driver Behavior
Selective Enforcement Program; and
WHEREAS, the objective of the Texas Traffic Safety Program
Contract is to implement a Selective Traffic
Enforcement Project (STEP); and
WHEREAS, STEP will apply additional enforcement effort at
those locations, times of day and days of the week
against hazardous traffic violations at
specifically identified high accident locations;
and
WHEREAS, the additional enforcement effort will be designed
to impact the traffic accidents at those STEP
sites.
WHEREAS, the City Manager is duly authorized to appoint a
representative of the City of Euless for the
purpose of executing the various documents
necessary for the fulfillment of this grant, and
the said person appointed for this purpose is
hereby named as James R. Hickerson, Director of
Finance for the City of Euless; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Euless, Texas, that the City of Euless
enter into a contract with the State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation, Traffic Safety
Section, to implement a Selective Traffic
Enforcement Project (STEP).
