A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS DESIGNATING LITTLE BEAR CREEK AND ITS
ENVIRONS AS A NATURAL AREA CONTAINING FLORA AND
FAUNA WHICH SHOULD BE PRESERVED, PROTECTED, AND
MADE ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE PURPOSES OF
RECREATION, ENTERTAINMENT, AND EDUCATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council, and the Park and Recreation
Board have prepared and accepted the "Euless Park Plan - 1976" and the
"Euless Park Plan - 1988 Update "; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Euless have expressed and shown
an interest in preserving and protecting the natural environment; and
WHEREAS, the United States government -has seen fit to identify and
establish rules and regulations governing the use and protection of
flood plains and wetlands; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, and the Park and Recreation Board have
previously established ownership and partial development of the Little
Bear Creek; and
WHEREAS, a property owner has offered to donate additional land within
the Little Bear Creek for use and development as open space;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Euless hereby
establishes Little Bear Creek and its environs as an officially
recognized natural area within its corporate limits.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Euless hereby
establishes Little Bear Creek and its environs as the location for the
preservation and development of native flora and fauna.
Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Euless hereby
authorizes and directs the City Manager to administer and direct the
cities' efforts toward the establishment of The Texas Outdoor
Education Trail and Amphitheater within Little Bear Creek.
Section 4: That the City Council of the City of Euless hereby
authorizes and directs the City Manager to promote participation by
other agencies and organizations, including but not limited to the
Public School District, Junior College System, Service Clubs, County,
State and Federal governments, etc.

Section 5: That the City Council of the City of Euless hereby
acknowledges and adopts previously prepared plans and studies dealing
with Little Bear Creek.
Section 6: That the City Council of the City of Euless hereby
instructs the City Manager to direct, promote, and collect plans and
studies prepared by others which will provide a basis for future
acquisition and development of Little Bear Creek as a community park
dedicated to providing active and passive recreation, an area for
preserving the native fauna and flora, and a center for education and
entertainment of the citizens of Euless and visitors.
