HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-751 11-27-1990RESOLUTION NO. 90 -751 WHEREAS, the City of Euless is a government which receives all of its funds from taxes, utility monopolies, and fees for services, all of which are held as a public trust over which the City Council recognizes its extraordinary duty to manage and conserve; and, WHEREAS, The City receives numerous requests from many worthy causes, whose merit for support is undoubted; and, WHEREAS, The City Council deems it inappropriate to raise taxes or other municipal charges to its citizens in order to grant requests for support which can and should be directed to private individuals who may differ in their choices of which and to what extent such causes should be supported. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: Section 1 THAT the City of Euless shall, as a matter of policy, refuse all requests for donations of public funds to individuals, associations or corporations, public or private, profit or non - profit. Section 2 THAT the City staff is authorized to refer to and cite the provisions of this resolution in response to all such requests.
