JOINT ELECTION RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Hurst - Euless - Bedford Independent School District ( "HEB ") and the
City of Euless, Texas ( "Euless ") desire to conduct joint elections pursuant to
the provisions of the Texas Election Code, including the conduct of joint absentee
voting and to provide for the sharing of expenses; and
WHEREAS, Article 2.Olc provides for joint elections upon the passage of a resolution by each
of the governing bodies participating therein reciting the terms of the agreement,
including the method for allocating expenses for the election; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TRUSTEES OF THE HURST - EULESS- BEDFORD INDE-
PENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS:

The Hurst - Euless- Bedford Independent School District and the City of
Euless shall hold a joint election on the first Saturday in May for the purpose of
electing Trustees to the HEB Board of Trustees and members of the Euless
City Council. It is further agreed that such election shall be conducted by the
City of Euless at such polling place as the City of Euless shall designate,
utilizing the election officers appointed by the City of Euless and that absentee
voting shall be conducted by the Euless City Secretary at such location as the
City of Euless shall name.
Paper ballots shall be utilized for the election itself and separate ballots may be
nrili7ed containing all the offices and propositions to be voted on at each polling
place, provided that no voter shall be given a ballot that would permit them to cast a
vote for any office or proposition on which the voter is ineligible to vote. Returns
may be made on forms which are individual or combined, and the officer designated
by law to be the custodian of the records for the City of Euless shall be designated
as the custodian of the combined records.
The expenses of the election shall be borne equally by HEB ISD and the City of
Euless, and HEB ISD agrees to indemnify the City of Euless for the cost of any
recount or election contest required for officers or propositions to be voted on for
HEB ISD.
AND IT IS SO RESOLVED.
Passed by the Hurst - Euless- Bedford Independent School District on this the 19th day of
February , 1991 by a vote of 7 to 0,
