HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-760 03-26-1991RESOLUTION NO. 91 -760 WHEREAS, the City of Euless and the Hurst - Euless- Bedford Independent School District have resolved to conduct joint elections pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Election Code, and WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Euless, provide that on May 4, 1991, there shall be elected the following officials for the City: Mayor, for a two year term Council Member, Place Two, for a two year term Council Member, Place Four, for a two year term, and the following members of the School District Board of Trustees: District Trustee, Place One, for a three year term District Trustee, Place Two, for a three year term. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 Absentee Voting for the above designated elections shall be conducted at the City Hall Administration Building, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless, Texas, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning on April 15, 1991, and ending on April 30, 1991. Absentee voting in person and by mail for such elections shall be by paper ballot. The above described place for absentee voting is also the address to which ballot applications and ballots voted by mail may be sent. SECTION 2 Voting on Election Day, May 4, 1991, shall be conducted at two polling places, Bear Creek Elementary School, 401 Bear Creek Drive, Euless, Texas, and the City of Euless Midway Park Recreation Center, 300 West Midway Drive, Euless, Texas, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Registered voters living in County Precincts 2316, 3036, 3160, 3183, 3247, 3329, 3335, 3336, 3388, and 3391 will vote at the Midway Park Recreation Center. Registered voters living in County Precincts 3216, 3322, 3389 and 3390 will vote at Bear Creek Elementary School. SECTION 3 The following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said elections: Midway Park Recreation Center: Bear Creek Elementary School: Absentee Ballot Board: Election Judge Dorothy Wilkinson Alternate Judge Della Ferris Election Judge Joan Myers Alternate Judge Retta Roberson Judge Martha Burleson. Clerks for the election shall be appointed by the Presiding Judge for each polling place in a number not to exceed four clerks. The Absentee Ballot Board Judge shall appoint two other members to the Absentee Ballot Board. All appointments shall be in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Texas Election Code. The Mayor shall appoint any substitute judges if necessary. Election judges and clerks shall be compensated for services rendered at a precinct polling place at an hourly rate of $5 per hour. ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 26th day of March, 1991, by a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions. APPROVED: Harold D.
