Loretta Getchell has been appointed Director of Fiscal and Administrative Services, effective immediately. Her responsibilities will include Finance, Human Resources/Risk Management/Insurance, Information Services, Purchasing, Solid Waste/Recycling and Franchise/Special Contracts. Getchell holds a bachelors of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Government Finance Officer and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs. She has been Euless' Director of Finance for the past three years. In that capacity, she was responsible for the Annual Budget, Accounting, Court, Utility Billing and Treasury functions. In her new position, she will continue to oversee these areas of responsibility. Before coming to Euless, Getchell was Finance Director for the City of Watauga. In addition, JoAnn Rogers, Library Administrator, will report to Rick Herold, Director of Parks and Community Services. According to Hennig, moving responsibility for the library under the Community Services umbrella "just makes sense." Parks and Community Services -- more -- 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless, Texas 76039-3595 City Manager Announces Organizational Changes 2-2-2-2-2 includes Recreation, Leisure Services, Texas Star Golf Course and Conference Centre, the Parks at Texas Star, Softball World, the Raven's Grille and Arbor Daze. Also, staff at Facilities Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance and Construction Management will report to Randy Byers, Director of Public Works. These duties will be in addition to the Public Works and Engineering activities he oversees within the City of Euless. Hennig announced the shift in organizational responsibilities due to Tom Cox, Director of Administration, accepting the position of Deputy City Manager in Grand Prairie. "Tom [Cox] served the city very well for 10 years," said Hennig. Through the years, Cox has been responsible for various areas of the City. Hennig also announced that although the Director of Economic Development has not yet been filled since the departure of Andrea Baxter in September, staff is currently interviewing prospective candidates. "This position is very high on our list of priorities. It's a very necessary position and we hope to have someone in place before the new year," said Hennig.
