SAS, the City of Euless regards the presence of trees as one of its
many assets and values them for their aesthetic quality and their enhancement
of the environment; and
?EiS, the addition of more trees, and especially those in urban areas
will help to improve the quality of life for those residents and visitors who
enjoy them; and
MEEBERS, the Texas Forest Service has taken a leading role in the
planting, maintenance and preservation of trees in urban areas in recent
times, making the management of urban forests a primary goal; and
WEBERS, the United States Forest Service in coordination with the Texas
Forest Service has made urban tree planting grant funds available thrown h the
establishment of the America the Beautiful-Texas Initiative Challenge Grant
Program; and
NUMMI the City of Euless is definitely benefiting from this newly
established program and will abide by the regulations of the urban tree
enhancement program.
NOW, , BE IT MOWED BY THE QTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EOIFSS,
TEAS:
SECTION 1: That the City C uncil of Euless, Texas does hereby request
that the Texas Forest Service accept and consider this grant application on
behalf of the America the Beautiful Texas Initiative Challenge Grant Program.
SECTION 2: That duplicate originals of this Resolution be forwarded to
the Texas Forest Service as evidence of this body's support of this grant
application, the tree planting project requested in the application, and the
long -term maintenance of these trees to be planted.
ADOPTED this 10th day of December, 1991, at a regular meeting of the City
Caincil of the City of Euless, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and
0 abstentions.
