HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-784 03-24-1992RESOLUTION NO. 92 -784 WHEREAS, the City of Euless and the Hurst - Euless - Bedford Independent School District have resolved to conduct joint elections pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Election Code, and WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Euless, provide that on May 2, 1992, there shall be elected the following officials for the City: Council Member, Place One, for a three year term Council Member, Place Three, for a three year term Council Member, Place Five, for a two year term Council Member, Place Six, for a two year term and the following members of the School District Board of Trustees: District Trustee, Place Three, for a three year term District Trustee, Place Four, for a three year term District Trustee, Place Five, for a three year term NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 Early voting for the above designated elections shall be conducted at the Euless City Hall Administration Building, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless, Texas, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning on April 13, 1992, and ending on April 28, 1992. The above described place for early voting is also the address to which ballot applications and ballots voted by mail may be sent. SECTION 2 Voting on Election Day, May 2, 1992, shall be conducted at two polling places, Bear Creek Elementary School, 401 Bear Creek Drive, Euless, Texas, and the City of Euless Midway Park Recreation Center, 300 West Midway Drive, Euless, Texas, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Registered voters living in County Precincts 2316, 3036, 3160, 3183, 3247, 3329, 3335, 3336, 3388, and 3391 will vote at the Midway Park Recreation Center. Registered voters living in County Precincts 3216, 3322, 3389 and 3390 will vote at Bear Creek Elementary School. The following named persons are Midway Park Recreation Center: Bear Creek Elementary School: Early Voting Ballot Board: SECTION 3 hereby appointed Election Judge Alternate Judge Election Judge Alternate Judge Judge officers for said elections: Dorothy Wilkinson Audrey Novotny Della Ferris Shirley Mercer Martha Burleson The Presiding Election Judge for each precinct shall appoint not less than two nor more than five qualified election clerks to serve and assist in conducting said election; provided, that if the Presiding Judge actually serves as expected, the Alternate Presiding Judge shall serve as one of the clerks. The Early Voting Ballot Board Judge shall appoint two other members to the Early Voting Ballot Board. All appointments shall be in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Texas Election Code. Election judges and clerks shall be compensated for services rendered at a precinct polling place at an hourly rate of $5 per hour. ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 24th day of March, 1992, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
