10 years as City Manager and 6 years as Assistant City Manager; and
WHEREAS, Tom Hart has received several distinguishing awards during his
tenure as Euless City Manager, such as the 1997 International City Managers
Association L. P. Cookingham Award, the 1998 Northeast Leadership Forum
Distinguished Community Leadership Award, and the Urban Management
Assistants of North Texas Joy Sansom Award for mentoring; and
WHEREAS, because of his leadership abilities and involvement in community
organizations such as Rotary, Hurst Euless Bedford Chamber of Commerce, and
Boy Scouts of America, Tom Hart has earned the respect of area civic leaders,
as well as his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, he has served the City of Euless well and has gained the respect of
the employees for his work and support on their behalf;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mary Lib Saleh, Mayor, and the City Council of the City of
Euless, do hereby extend our best wishes to Tom Hart for continued success in
his future endeavors, and proclaim March 1, 1999, as
TOM HART DAY
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have signed our names and affixed the seal of the
City hereto, this 23rd day of February, 1999.

Please accept this as my letter of resignation effective at the end of the day February 28,
1999.
For the past sixteen years, Euless has been not only a job but also my home. It has been a true
pleasure to have had the opportunity to serve this city. It was always my good fortune to be
able to work with a great staff and great council members, and for this I thank you.
One's career in local government management should always have one clear-cut objective
and that is to make sure the city is a better place when you leave. I believe this is the case for
Euless, Texas, because of what you as a City Council allowed this staff to do over the past
few years.
Again, let me say, "thank you," for all the support and encouragement over the years. If I can
ever be of assistance or service in the future, you know you can always call on me. Best
wishes to you, the staff, and the citizens of Euless as you continue to make it an even better
place for tomorrow.

going to have a Bpi Pizza Party, for everyone to tell Tom farewell. The
party will be:

All employees are invited to attend so Tom can visit and swap funny stories
with everyone. There will be a presentation at approximately 12:30. Let me
or Salina know if you or your group will have a presentation to make.
Also, please call Salina at x1423 by Friday, February 19, with an idea of
how many people will be attending so she can get the pizza orders turned in.
