WHEREAS, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court has approved the
acquisition of equipment for installation of a new Automated
Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS); and
WHEREAS, the City of North Richland Hills City Council anticipates
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with NEC
Technologies, Inc., with said contract to be executed for the
acquisition of a terminal which is part of this Automated Fingerprint
Identification System; and
WHEREAS, the new Automated Fingerprint Identification System will have
the capability for improved inter - agency fingerprint identifications
between the City of Euless Police Department and other agencies,
including the City of North Richland Hills; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council at its regular meeting on May
26, 1992 was given a briefing on the new Automated Fingerprint
Identification System and was asked to adopt a Resolution endorsing
the acquisition of the system by the City of North Richland Hills and
confirming the City of Euless policy regarding participation in said
system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Euless that the City of Euless hereby endorses the acquisition by the
City of North Richland Hills of an inter - agency Automated Fingerprint
Identification System by means of a contract with NEC Technologies,
Inc. It is further declared to be the policy of the City of Euless
that it will cooperate and coordinate with the City of North Richland
Hills to facilitate inter - agency fingerprint identifications between
the City of Euless police department and other agencies, including
Tarrant County, for efficient and economical utilization of the
inter - agency identification capabilities of the new Automated
Fingerprint Identification System, and toward that end it is the
policy of the Euless City Council that the City of Euless will
participate in its appropriate share of the cost of the infrastructure
for the new identification system as determined by the City of Euless
City Council.
If for any such reason the City of North Richland Hills City Council
does not contract for the Automated Fingerprint Identification System,
this resolution becomes null and void.
