A RESOLUTION APPOINTING PRESIDING ELECTION JUDGES AND
ALTERNATES FOR THE JANUARY 16, 1993, ELECTION FOR THE
SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSITION PERTAINING TO A ONE -HALF CENT
SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless by Ordinance No. 1099 has
called an election pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Election Code and
Section 4B of Article 5190.6, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended, (the
"Act ") for the purpose of submitting a proposition pertaining to the levy and
collection of an additional one -half cent sales and use tax within the City
with the proceeds thereof to be used and applied in the manner and to any of
the purposes authorized by Section 4B of the Act, including, but not limited
to, parks and park facilities, library improvements, and economic development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1
The following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said election at
the following named polling places:
Midway Park Recreation Center
Presiding Election Judge Dorothy Wilkinson, 700 Faun Drive
Alternate Presiding Judge Della Ferris, 609 Commerce Street
Bear Creek Elementary School
Presiding Election Judge Martha Burleson, 1914 Windlea Drive
Alternate Presiding Judge Lucille Earls, 505 West Cliff Drive
Early Voting Ballot Board
Presiding Judge Linda Stevens, 1709 Signet
Clerks for the election shall be appointed by the Presiding Judge for each
polling place in a number not to exceed four clerks at each polling place.
The Early Voting Ballot Board Judge shall appoint two other members to the
Early Voting Ballot Board. All appointments shall be in accordance with the
terms and provisions of the Texas Election Code. The Mayor shall appoint any
substitute judges if necessary. Election judges and clerks shall be
compensated for services rendered at a precinct polling place at an hourly
rate of $5 per hour.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 8th day of
December, 1992, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
