COUNCIL AND STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT Panel members included Mayor Linda Martin, Mayor Pro Tern Eddie Price, and Council Members Tim Stinneford, Perry Bynum, Harry Zimmer, Tika Paudel, and city staff including City Manager Loretta Getchell, Deputy City Manager Chris Barker, Police Chief Mike Brown, Fire Chief Chanc Bennett, and Director of Planning and Economic Development Michael Warrix. Police Chief Mike Brown introduced the members of the panel and the department directors in attendance and opened the floor to questions from the audience. TOPICS OF DISCUSSION Staff responded to questions from the audience related to the following: - Status of the construction occurring on Pipeline Road - Update on commercial developments - Trash and recycle services - Wilshire Park renovations - Renovation of Animal Shelter - Natatorium climate control - Sidewalks and pedestrian entrances around Trinity High School - Traffic patterns at Main Street and State Highway 183 (SH Boulevard, and the northbound State Highway 121 frontage road. - Harwood Road extension into the DFW Airport - Enforcement of Short -Term Rentals Ordinance - Outside storage regulations - Street signs and street lighting 183), Mid Cities Deputy City Manager Chris Barker presented information related to: - Development in Glade Parks, including the opening of new restaurants. - Classic Chevrolet along SH 183 - Status of Water Color development (SH 183 and SH 360) - Residential development at Mid Cities Boulevard and Main Street - Harwood Road extension to DFW Airport Town Hall Meeting January 18, 2024 Page 3 - Mid Cities Boulevard and Cheek-Sparger Road at SH 121 construction improvements - Street maintenance projects - Addition of Pickleball courts and hard surface volleyball courts at Midway Park - Renovations to Wilshire Park - Blessing Branch Trail System - Parks at Texas Star improvements - Demolition of the Mid City Inn on Euless Boulevard and redevelopment plans - Fire Station No. 2 construction - Police Facility renovations - Future expansion of Animal Services facility - Parks Master Plan update Mayor Martin and the City Council Members expressed their appreciation to those in attendance.
