FOX4 Shots fired at police during Tarrant County chase, 2 arrested Author: FOX 4 Staff Published: May 23, 2024 2:41 pm CDT EULESS, Texas - A man and a woman have been arrested in connection to a police chase from Euless to Arlington earlier this week. Euless police say an officer tried to pull over a driver who was swerving in and out of lanes on suspicion of DWI on Wednesday evening. The driver took off at a high rate of speed, leading officers on a 25-minute chase. Officers chased the silver Chevy Impala through Grand Prairie and Arlington. Police say the driver began shooting at officers while on SH 161 in Grand Prairie. "He's shooting outside the car at this point," an officer can be heard saying. They opened fire on two occasions before throwing the gun out of the vehicle. "Eventually, he threw the weapon out. We didn't know it at the time that we stopped him," said Euless PD Assistant Chief Gary Landers. "We did recover that weapon." About 18 minutes into the chase, Grand Prairie police officers deployed spike strips. "Watch the spikes. Watch the spikes. Good spike, good spike," you can hear the officers saying in the video. Less than a minute later, you can see a tire falling apart. "Rubber just went from the car," the officer is heard saying. Then, sparks fly from the Impala as it speeds through an intersection. A few minutes later, more sparks and smoke as the Impala drives toward residential neighborhoods. The car was stopped on Monteleon Street in Grand Prairie. "Let me see your f****** hands. Lay on the f****** ground," the officer said. It appears the Impala wasn't in park. The car rolled back, hitting the police car. Euless PD says that no one was injured during the chase. "Every officer involved did exactly what they were trained to do. They took the necessary precautions once they saw that the subject was firing his weapon," said Landers. The driver, 39-year-old Micky Greeson, and the passenger, 38-year-old Chaya Greeson, were arrested. You can hear Micky Greeson through dash camera audio deny shooting at an officer. [OFFICER: "Didn't you just shoot at the police?"] ""F*** no. Hey man, I didn't shoot at no f****** police," he replied. He continues to scream at officers from the patrol car. "I need some air dude I'm about to freak the f*** out, man," he is heard saying. Micky Greeson was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and tampering with physical evidence. Chaya Greeson was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and possession of a controlled substance.
