SUPPORTING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY
PROGRAM GRANT FROM THE TEXAS FOREST SERVICE TO RECEIVE FUNDING
ASSISTANCE TO PROVIDE A ONE YEAR URBAN FORESTER STAFF POSITION
WHEREAS, the United States Forest Service in cooperation with the Texas Forest Service
has made tree resource management grant funds available through the establishment of the Urban
and Community Forestry Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless regards the presence of trees as one of its many assets and
values them for their aesthetic quality and their enhancement of the environment; and
WHEREAS, the City places value in the conservation of its tree resources by qualified
professionals specifically trained in arboricultural maintenance and management practices; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless will comply with the local matching provisions of the
funding assistance and the fiscal reporting requirements of the Texas Forest Service.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Euless City Council supports the
acceptance of Texas Forest Service funding assistance for the employment of an Urban Forester.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Euless, Texas, on the 23' day of November, 1993, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and
0 abstentions.
