A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENGAGE RATE CASE
CONSULTANTS WITH THE STEERING COMMITTEE OF LONE STAR GAS
COMPANY MID- CITIES DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AREA CTTTES ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF EULESS RELATIVE TO RELATED DOCKETS BEFORE THE TEXAS
RAILROAD COMMISSION IN CONNECTION WTTT3 LONE STAR GAS COMPANY'S
RATE CASE
WHEREAS, on May 11, 1994, Lone Star Gas Company filed a Schedule of Rates and
Statement of Intent to Change Rates with individual cities for an increase in
rates; and

the City of Euless, Texas, is a regulatory authority having a statutory duty to
participate in such proceedings, and whose citizens will be affected by the
rates established as a result of such proceedings; and
the City of Euless is entitled to be reimbursed for its reasonable expenses
pursuant to the Texas Gas Utilities Regulatory Act; and
the Steering Committee of Lone Star Gas Company Mid - Cities Distribution
System Area Cities (" Steering Committee ") has been formed to facilitate and
coordinate the participation of cities in the service area of Lone Star Gas
Company in these rate proceedings; and
the City Council has suspended the proposed effective date of said proposed
rates and service regulations for a period of 90 days from June 16, 1994, for
further study, investigation, presentation of evidence, and public hearing; and
in order to allow the City of Euless sufficient time to analyze and prepare for
the rate case proceedings, the Euless City Manager shall engage rate case
consultants with the Steering Committee for those dockets relating to Lone
Star Gas Company rate matters; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, authorizes the City Manager
to engage the necessary rate case consultants with the Steering Committee on behalf of the
City of Euless relative to matters filed by Lone Star Gas Company.
SECTION 2. Further, the City Manager is hereby authorized to expend an amount not to
exceed $5,000.00, payable from the Reserve Fund.
SECTION 3. The City of Euless should join with other participating cities to review such
filing and to intervene at the Texas Railroad Commission subject to the right to terminate
such participation at any time by written notice and to act independently in the exercise of
local regulatory authority.
SECTION 4. That the City Secretary of this municipality is hereby directed to deliver a copy
of this Resolution to Lone Star Gas Company promptly after the passage hereof.
SECTION 5. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
Resolution is passed is open to the public and that public notice of the time, place and
purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by law.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless,
Texas, on the 14th day of June, 1994, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and
0 abstentions.
