Minutes
May 8, 2023
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 10:02am by Chairperson Suzy McCormick and was held at
the Heritage Museum, Euless.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Doris Brown, Michele Burger, Weldon Cannon, James Fuller, Patsy Hoover, Mary Hunt, Keith
unamious Jernigan, Suzy McCormick, Anniece McKanna, Gary Parker, Helen Payton, Linda Pool,
Joe Robinson, Faye Stinneford, and Mavy Wright.
STAFF PRESENT
Parks & Community Services Director Duane Strawn and Parks & Community Services
Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
VISITORS PRESENT
Gay Fuller
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Due to the fact the March meeting minutes had been tabled, Joe Robinson made a motion to
accept the minutes with the correction in reference to the attendance at the graveside service
of Bill Golden; the March minutes were seconded by Faye Stinneford. With unanimous
approval, the motion carried.
Faye Stinneford made a motion to accept the April minutes as written; Joe Robinson seconded
the motion. With approval, the motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
There was no report from the April meeting due to the absence of the Treasurer. The beginning
balance for March was $8,293.87. An expense of $213.48 was made in March for the purchase
of 50 frames and for the military photos and railings, as well as engraving on a plaque. The
money jar collection totalled $23. The balance effective April 10, 2023 was $8,103.39.
STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
1. Docents and Volunteer Report/Recruitment—Linda Pool noted she and Mavy Wright
conducted a private tour of guests from the Saginaw United Methodist Church. Mavy
Wright also stated she conducted a separate tour of three people. Ms. Pool stated she
would distribute the docent signup sheets for upcoming Open House in May, June, and July.
She reminded the committee members there will be no meetings in July or August;
however, the Open House would remain open.

2. Acquisition —no report.
3. Facebook—Ms. Pool shared she had made multiple Facebook posts regarding the Open
House. She encouraged the members to share the posts.
4. Plaque —Ms. Stinneford noted the plaques have been done and are ready to hang.
5. Display Signs —no report.
6. Publicity/Programs/Speakers—no report.
7. Heritage Park —no report.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT— Ms. McCormick inquired as to who is responsible for maintenance costs
to the museum foundation and the cosmetic work to be done in the Military Room.
STAFF REPORT— Mr. Strawn expressed his delight in joining the Committee. He mentioned he
will gladly assist us in any way he can.
COMMITTEE REPORT / INPUT
1. Ms. Pool indicated her family had a large reunion in which many stories were told and
shared.
2. Ms. McKanna thanked everyone who attended Peggy Vandiver's 90th birthday party at Texas
Star.
3. Ms. Stinneford stated the Euless Fire Department Steak Dinner was a success.
4. Funeral service for Rick Herold was held on May 1. Rick was an integral part of the Euless
Parks & Recreation Department during his tenure.
5. Weldon Cannon provided an update to his projects and stated a photo could be placed in
the museum.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by Linda Pool, and
seconded by Doris Brown. Chairperson McCormick declared the meeting adjourned at
