HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-873 09-13-1994RESOLUTION NO. 94 -873 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR A RECALL ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR, CITY OF EULESS, TO BE HELD ON OCTOBER 8, 1994. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article IV of the Euless City Charter, a Recall Election has been called for Saturday, October 8, 1994; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 32.001 of the Texas Election Code, a presiding judge and alternate presiding judge shall be appointed for each election polling place; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 87.002 of the Texas Election Code a presiding judge of the Early Voting Ballot Board shall be appointed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 Voting on Election Day, October 8, 1994, shall be conducted at two polling places, Bear Creek Elementary School, 401 Bear Creek Drive, Euless, Texas, and the city of Euless Midway Park Recreation Center, 300 West Midway Drive, Euless, Texas, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Registered voters living in County Precincts 3036, 3160, 3183, 3247, 3329, 3335, 3336, 3391, 3414, 3432, and 3511 will vote at Midway Recreation Center, 300 West Midway Drive, Euless, Texas. Registered voters living in County Precincts 3216, 3389 and the portions of 3322 and 3390 that are in the City of Euless limits will vote at Bear Creek Elementary School, 401 Bear Creek Drive, Euless, Texas. SECTION 2 The following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said elections: Midway Park Recreation Center: Election Judge Alternate Judge Barbara Girouard 508 Huntington Euless, TX 76040 Mary Smith 413 Huntington Euless, TX 76040 Bear Creek Elementary School: Early Voting Ballot Board: Election Judge Alternate Judge Judge Martha Burleson 1914 Windlea Drive Euless, TX 76040 Kim Collins 2601 Bayberry Lane Euless, TX 76039 Martha Burleson 1914 Windlea Drive Euless, TX 76040 The presiding election judge for each precinct shall appoint not less than two nor more than ten qualified election clerks to serve and assist in conducting said election; provided, that if the presiding judge actually serves as expected, the alternate presiding judge shall serve as one of the clerks. The Early Voting Ballot Board Judge shall appoint two other members to the Early Voting Ballot Board. All appointments shall be in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Texas Election Code. Election judges and clerks shall be compensated for services rendered at a precinct polling place at an hourly rate of $5 per hour. SECTION 3 Notice of the appointment of each presiding election judge and alternate presiding judge shall be given by the City Secretary not later than the 20th day after the appointment is made in accordance with Sec. 32.009 of the Texas Election Code. ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 13th day of September, 1994, by a vote of 7 ayes, o nays, and 0 abstentions.
