RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TARRANT COUNTY, AUTHORIZING THE RECORDS
MANAGEMENT OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF EULESS TO
PETITION THE TEXAS STATE LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES
COMMISSION FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE RECORDS
CONTROL SCHEDULE FILING DEADLINE UNDER THE LOCAL
GOVERNMENT RECORDS ACT OF 1989 FROM JANUARY 2,
1995 TO JANUARY 2, 1996, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
203.041(C), TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE.
WHEREAS, during the 71st Texas State Legislative Session a comprehensive records
management law was passed which is Chapter 201 of the Local Govemment Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless desires to carry out the policies and
procedures for efficient and economical management of records and to carry out the
requirements of the records management law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless deems it necessary to apply for an
extension of the records control schedule filing deadline;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The Records Management Officer of the City of Euless is authorized to petition the Texas
State Library and Archives Commission for an extension of the records control schedule
filing deadline from January 2, 1995 to January 2, 1996.
SECTION 2.
A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Texas State Library, State and Local
Records Management Division.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Euless, Tarrant County,
Texas, on the 13th day of December, 1994.
