WHEREAS, juvenile offenders are responsible for an increasing
percentage of violent crimes in the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the juvenile justice system has failed to instill a sense
of accountability for Criminal Conduct; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Family Code was written over 20 years ago; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council at its regular meeting on
December 13, 1994, was provided a briefing on the Texas Police
Chiefs Association Juvenile Justice Recommendations and asked to
adopt a Resolution endorsing said Recommendations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Euless that the City of Euless hereby endorses the efforts of the
Texas Police Chiefs' Association and encourages each member of the
Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate to support the
legislative changes proposed by the Texas Police Chiefs
Association.
