March 14, 1958
Mayor Millican called a special meeting
of the City Council for March 14, 1958, at 7:00 p.m.
With Mayor Millican presiding, Councilmen
present were J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray.
The purpose of the meeting was to make a
preview study of a proposed program of the City government for the present
and future.
A motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded
by Councilman Horton, provided for and instructed the City Secretary to
authorize Texas Power and Light Company to install one additional vapor light
on the pole in front of the Assembly of God Church on North Main Street.
The motion was adopted.
On a second motion by Councilman Murray,
seconded by Councilman Anderson, the City Council unanimously approved and
voiced its support of the proposed program governing the City as studied and
considered in this meeting.
A final motion by Councilman Cadenhead,
seconded by Councilman Murray, moved that the City Secretary be instructed
to pay for the venetian blinds installed in the office of police chief out
of City funds. The motion was adopted.
The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
